A Lawyer of the Egyptian Commission for Rights and Freedoms said that the Supreme State Security Prosecution decided to renew the detention of political activist Abdullah Al-Saeed, a member of the bread and freedom party.
The decision to renew his detention for 15 days, pending investigations in the state security case 441 of 2018.
Al-Saeed proved during the renewal session yesterday that he was beaten and injured upon his arrival at the prison headquarters of Tora Prison.
Al-Saeed had disappeared for about a month since his arrest, without any communication between him and his lawyer or his family, before the defendant appeared in the case.
Al-Saeed faces charges of participating with a terrorist group, knowing its aims, spreading false news and misuse of social media.
